Special Love

"Every child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged of man." ~Rabindranath Tagore

It's the love month and we begin the celebration by sharing some love to our dear friends at Lahug Elementary School - SPED Center. Their teacher, Mrs. Gina Labrador, has always inspired us to continue our mission of providing her and the students classroom resources as she has shown geniune love and dedication to her students with special needs.

Thank you to all our donors! To God be the Glory!

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others are bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box." ~ Robert Fulghum

Christmas 2015: Merry and Bright

"Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas." ~ Dale Evans

Throughout the year, we have Share-the-Love events whenever we receive clothing and toys donations but having it during Christmas time as our annual tradition for our friends in Barangay Apas is especially joyful. The smiles of the children make us look forward to another year of doing more.

More Books from Tualatin, Oregon

"There is no such thing as a child who hates to read; there are only children who have not found the right book." — Frank Serafini

The second set of books from Byrom Elementary School was endorsed to the Grade 6 teachers of Lahug Elementary School (LES) last November 27. We are glad that through these books, the teachers will have more resources to encourage their students to read more. The books will be part of their mini-library inside the classrooms. We appreciate the help of Mrs. Gina Labrador, LES SPED Center Coordinator, for making this event possible.

Bright Start Celebrates 6th Year Anniversary

“Sharing is letting miracles unfold.” ~ G.B.

Happy 6th anniversary to the Bright Start family!

Our projects, whether big or small, reflect our commitment to be an avenue for people to bring positive changes in the lives of children especially those with special needs. Disparities may continue to exist but we have witnessed what a simple crayon can do for a child or what it means for students in a school located in a remote island to finally have dictionaries and encyclopedias in their classrooms.
