Summer 2014: Shining Bright

A number of children from different areas in Cebu had one Bright Summer. They received toys, clothes, food, and school supplies from our Bright Start Heroes from Edmonton (Canada), Oregon and Texas (USA).

Project Sunshine Update #21. Newly repaired Grade 1 Classroom at Paypay Elementary School (Bogo City, Cebu)

No stopping the summer heat as well as Project Sunshine! Only a month more to go and the students will be marching back to their classrooms. We are excited for the Grade 1 students at Paypay Elementary School to see their newly repaired classroom.

Project Sunshine Update #19: Repaired Comfort Rooms at Dalingding Elementary School, Daanbantayan, Cebu

Engr. Gerald Ortiz has shared with us the good news that the comfort rooms of Dalingding Elementary School, Daanbantayan, Cebu have been repaired. They totally overhauled the plumbing as well. The students can now use their new comfort rooms.

Project Sunshine Update #17. Baybay I SPED School Fifth Snack Drive

A little spark of kindness can put a colossal burst of sunshine into someone’s day. ~ Unknown

The students of Baybay I SPED School (Baybay, Leyte) were given putopao and yogurt drink milk for the fifth snack drive held this morning. As always, we would like to express our gratitude to the school's principal, Mrs. Elsa Tabudlong and the SPED teachers, as well as Bright Start volunteers -- Tiya Liling and Mitzi Ocañada -- for facilitating the distribution.

Project Sunshine Update #15. Baybay I SPED School Fourth Snack Drive

Last Friday, while everyone was busy with Valentine's Day, Baybay I SPED School (Leyte) was celebrating SPED Fun Day. Bright Start was more than willing to provide the SPED students with their morning snacks. As always, the ever energetic SPED teachers led the distribution of yogurt milk and New Yorker sandwiches lovingly made by our Bright Start volunteers, Mitzi Ocañada and Iris Chiong.

Project Sunshine Update #14: Pencils for Kinder Students at Palompon South Central School (Leyte)

Because of Project Sunshine, Bright Start gained special friends and they will always be dear to us. For now, we have some pencils to their 130 kindergarteners. Special thanks to their principal, Mr. Artemio Cardillo for facilitating the distribution last February 6, 2013. More power to all teachers and staff of Palompon South Central School!

Project Sunshine Update #13. Baybay I SPED School Third Snack Drive

Bright Start's third snack drive for Baybay I SPED School (Leyte) was held today, January 29, 2014. The SPED students (107) were given yogurt milk drink and New Yorker sandwiches made by Liling Loreto. The distribution was facilitated by Mrs. Elsa Tabudlong, principal; the SpED teachers, and Mitzi Ocañada. Thank you very much!
