Beauty Shining Brighter

“No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart.” ~ Unknown

Every successful Bright Start project was made possible through partnerships with kind individuals, families, organizations, and institutions who believe in our mission to help children with special needs as well us public schools and day care centers where child development resources are very much needed. For this month, another partnership has been formed.

Ms. Sarah Jean Fernandez and Mr. Lee Jerwin L. Beduya, second year students of University of the Visayas - Gullas College of Medicine (Cebu City), will be representing the Visayas region of medical schools. They will be competing in a pageant for a cause that will be held in Ateneo de Manila on February 3, 2017 during the celebration of Association of Philippines Medical Colleges (APMC) 50th year anniversary. They will be conducting a piso vote wherein all proceeds will go to a chosen organization.

We are very humbled that Ms. Sarah and Mr. Lee Jerwin have chosen Bright Start!

Moreover, they eagerly found time to do an outreach activity together their schoolmates last January 18, 2017 at Lahug Elementary School Special Education (SPED) Center, Cebu City. Family and friends provided them support as well as students of UV - Gullas College of Medicine students, Lions Club Centennial (Cebu and Iloilo), and Association of Medical Schools Visayas Region. They donated books, crayons, vitamins, and SPED resources. A big thank you to all! We would also like to thank Mrs. Gina Labrador, the SPED Coordinator, for giving us another opportunity to be with the students.

To Ms. Sarah and Mr. Lee Jerwin, we are wishing you all the best as you represent Visayas. We know you will both shine in the competition and please know that you have already won our hearts! Thank you very much. :-)

To God be the Glory!
